There are many different types of orthodontic appliances available, and more than one of them may be suitable for your particular type of treatment. The type of braces that are proposed for you individually will take many different things into account such as age, proposed length of treatment, severity of your particular case and to some extent, the aesthetic requirements that you are hoping to achieve along the way!

It may also be possible within the treatment period to use more than one type of braces; you may be able to change type mid-way through your treatment in order to gain a more aesthetic effect. This is generally decided upon in the initial, although does depend on your individual progress.

Certain types of braces are more suitable for particular cases, for example the Invisalign system is suitable for adults only. Peter Grant will be able to let you know all of the options available to you in your initial consultation.
